It was reported that Rohr allegedly incited the players to stage a protest in Alexandria two days to the second Group B match of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations’ between the Eagles and Guinea which the Eagles later won 1-0 to qualify for the second round of the competition.

“The Nigeria Football Federation still don’t respect Gernot Rohr’s contract. As we speak his 2018 World Cup bonus which both parties contractually agreed on has not been paid since one year  and half now. Also his two months salaries covering  May 2019 and June 2019 has not been paid as we speak today Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 so what are we saying.

“His contract has been frequently and constantly breached and he would have gone since but his love for Nigeria and most especially his players who loved and adore him stopped him from making such decisions since the world cup in Russia last year.

“Most times because of his high regards for the NFF President Amaju Pinnick he had shelved such decisions. So he was highly disappointed to read in the media that the NFF leadership are planning to sack him after his tolerance and patience in dealing with these knotty issues.

Also defending the Eagles’ Technical Adviser on the bonus/allowances row, the impeccable source in the team also disclosed.“Rohr has mediated well in this bonus and allowance issues concerning the players and officials of the team most especially the players. Many times he has asked the players to come to press Conferences, meetings and training and also importantly to play matches. Everybody in the team and even around the team knows about this and they can testify.

“So it is very wrong and misleading for anybody to say that Coach Rohr incited the players to protest the non payment of their outstanding match bonus and camping allowance.“The only thing the Coach is thinking about right now is how to inspire the Super Eagles players to beat Cameron and qualify for the quarterfinals of this competition”, the source disclosed.
