In a post that went viral on the internet some hours ago, a husband and wife who celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary were seen putting on a prison dress and placard with “Sentence to Life” inscribed on it. Their photo caught people’s attention and different meaning were given to it as everyone saw it from a different perspective.
Also, some curious ones don’t know what to believe as the message that the couple aimed to convey to the general public appears to be unfathomable to them. However, in this article, I will unveil the truth behind the couple who recently celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary in a prison dress.
Is the couple serving jail terms?
of course, this is one of the questions that come to mind after seeing the couple’s mugshot, nevertheless, the answer is no. According to Punch Newspaper, one of the duos dropped a statement concerning the idea behind their 5th wedding anniversary outfit. Mr. Kinsley Egbe explained that it’s not every time that beautiful outfits express what marriage is like. To him, there are other sides of marriage that our attractive dresses can’t represent, hence, the inspiration behind their mugshot outfit.
Well, I agree with this couple in the sense that marriage sometimes limits our freedom by preventing us to do certain things and makes us spend the rest of our lives with a particular person (partner). Looking at their dress, this limitation of freedom is clearly expressed.
In addition to the message passed by this amazing couple, it should also serve as an eye-opener to the young people who might be getting married soon. They should understand that marriage is forever and one needs to choose the person he/she truly loves to be able to stand the test of time. Marriage requires commitment, forbearance, understanding, and true love to work. However, it can only work if you marry someone with whom you share many things in common.
