President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has denied the sexual allegation levelled against him by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, describing it as “a political vendetta.”

Senator Natasha who was stripped of her committee role and had her seat at the Senate chambers changed, accused the nation’s number three man of making sexual advances on her and that her refusal to yield led to her ordeal.

Responding, Akpabio through his media consultant, Kenny Okulogbo, denied the allegations, labelling them “tissues of lies” concocted by a disgruntled senator.

Okulogbo said Natasha’s was bitter about her removal as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content, suggesting that her claims were a retaliatory smear campaign.

“She is just angry because she was removed as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content,” Okulogbo stated, promising an official statement from Akpabio’s office soon to address the matter fully.

Akpabio and Natasha first locked horns last July 2024 when Akpabio told her not to speak like she was in a “nightclub” during a plenary session, a remark that drew accusations of misogyny and prompted a public apology after backlash from women’s groups.

The senate president has been accused before of sexual harassment and had a spat with other female senators like Ireti Kingibe.
