Football stakeholders in Eboyi state have moved against Senator Obinna Ogba football Association chairmanship re-election bid and have resolved to push for the emergence of a fresh candidate.
www.the[1] ajasanews.com investigation gathered that the stakeholders grouse for not wanting to continue with the Chairman Senate committee on sports is basically on the grounds that he has over stayed as the state FA chairman, having been there since the creation of the state.
More so, our investigation gathered that the stakeholders are not satisfied with his method of leadership where after emerging as the Chairman he hardly call for meeting till it is time for a new election. They also decry the idea of running the affairs of the FA alone which they maintained does not allow for other board members to participate.
According to one of the stakeholder who did not want his name on print for very obvious reason noted that the Senator should relinquish the position of the FA Chairman to another person who will have the time to run the affairs of football in the state. He lamented that Eboyi football stakeholders are really not enjoying the benefit of football programs in Nigeria because the Abuja based Senator does not have time for them.
It is said that several others have picked forms to contest for this year’s football association election and most of stakeholders are said to be in support of the new candidates just for the purpose of having a bit of fresh air in Eboyi football Association.
“You can imargin that Senator Obinna Ogba has been the only chairman of the football Association since the creation of the state. Well, that may not have being an issue had we been having the benefits of having a state FA Association, but that is not the case and we do not plan to continue like this,” he said.
Whether the plans of the football stakeholders in Eboyi state will have their ways is just a matter of time.
