The Democratic Front (TDF) has described the independence Day speech of President Bola Tinubu as an indicator of the sure and steady footed path the administration has placed the country.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Mallam Danjuma Muhammad and Secretary, Chief Wale Adedayo, the group said the speech shows the President’s commitment to a better Nigeria on his watch.

TTDF says, “We are thrilled to respond with joy, to the optimism and encouraging messages contained in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s address to the nation, on Nigeria’s 64th independence anniversary.

“We are particularly happy with the President’s commitment to continue to forge ahead on the path of a greater future for Nigeria, by ensuring that the ongoing result-oriented reforms of his administration are conclusively and successfully implemented.

“Also worthy of mention is the reference to the Exxon Mobil – Seplat divestment deal in the presidential address in view of its potency to increase the nation’s daily crude oil production by 450,000 barrel per day.

“For us at the TDF, the most heartening revelation in the President’s address was the delightfully surprising update on Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) totalling $30 bn in one year.

“By our record and estimation, no economic reform ever undertaken by any Nigerian government, has achieved such a fantastic milestone within a short period of time. And predictictably, it is an indication that the current economic reforms and reengineering by the Tinubu administration will be a resounding success. We are convinced that it would be reference point in global economic transformations.

TDF has always commended the President for his emphasis on mechanized agriculture as the only veritable tool to advance Nigeria’s agricultural potentials beyond subsistence farming dictated by the vagaries of nature.

“It is in this light that we laud the brilliant initiative to establish an assembly plant for 2000 John Deere tractors, combined harvesters, disc riders, bottom ploughs and other farm equipment, as contained in the Independence Day address to the nation.

The success achieved in reducing national security breach and insurgency in the country, the remarkable success recorded by NELFUND in the disbursement of education loans to indigent students and the advancement of credit to Nigerians by CREDICORP, in the bid to ensure economic financial inclusion are pointers to efforts to the good work of the administration.

“There is also the commencement of local refining of petroleum products by Dangote Refinery, the flow of foreign investments into the economy, the increase in electricity power generation and reforms initiated to decentralize the sector for free market competition, and the 3MTT programme, all point to the fact that President Tinubu’s reforms are succeeding.

“We also want to appeal to Nigerians that it it won’t take much time for this Initiatives to manifest in the form of quality living and limitless economic opportunities and prosperity for Nigerians.”

On President Tinubu’s plan to convoke a National Youth Conference, TDF sees it as a good opportunity for younger Nigerians to have a seat at the table.

“On this formidable premise, we ignite the passion of the youths, in their collective capacity as the torchbearers of the nation’s future, to avail themselves with the rare opportunity presented by the President, by contributing meaningfully to the deliberations of the conference whenever it is convened .

“We are convinced that it will be a good platform for them to design the roadmap to the kind of society they are all desirous to inherit from the present generation of Nigerian leaders.

“It is the primary duty of the youths to promote peace and stability in the country, so that the President’s efforts can successfully birth the desired future of our dream,” it added.
