Two Americans That Were Executed In The Month Of January 2022

The capital punishment is still being practised in some states in the United States of America. Every year, death row inmates are executed on a fixed date through lethal injection, most of the time.

In the first month of the year 2022, two inmates were executed in the cities of Oklahoma and Alabama for murder related crimes. Below are the Americans who were executed in the month of January 2022.

1. Donald Anthony Grant.

Grant was executed at the age of 46 years over a crime he committed in 2001. According to the narration, Donald carried out a robbery operation to raise money for the bail of his girlfriend, who was arrested by the police.

Grant ended up shooting and stabbing to death two women, Brenda and Suzette at the scene of the operation. Grant was eventually arrested and sentenced to death in 2005.

Grant was finally executed on the 27th of January 2022 in Oklahoma.

2. Matthew Reeves.

Matthew Reeves was executed at the age of 43 years over a crime he committed in 1996 when he was just 18 years old. According to the narration, Reeves was on a mission to go rob someone when his car broke down. His victim, Johnson, was driving by when he saw Reeves stranded with his car alongside his friends. Johnson stopped and helped Reeves to tow his car to his house.

After Johnson rendered his help, Reeves brought out a gun from his house, shot Johnson dead and rob him of all the money he had. Johnson’s body was found in his truck later and Reeves was eventually arrested.

Reeves was sentenced to death in 1998 and was finally executed on the 27th of January 2022, in Alabama.
