Two Yoruba Politicians Who Have Openly Declared Opposition To Tinubu’s Presidential Bid

Ahead of the 2023 General Elections, it’s no longer news that the APC National Leader and Ex-Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has indicated interest in contesting for President. Tinubu has been getting endorsements from Top Politicians both in the Northern and Southern Regions of the Country. On the other hand, Some Political Stalwarts have openly declared that they ‘ll not support Tinubu’s Presidential Ambition. They are

1. Chief Bode George

George, a former Governor of Old Ondo State and Ex-Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stated that he has nothing personal against Tinubu, but insisted that a “Kingmaker does not throw himself in the ring and say he wants to be a King”. He also accused Tinubu of Non-performance during his Administration as Governor of Lagos State.

Speaking further, Bode George said he would work for the success of his party, the PDP in the forthcoming Presidential Election rather than to support Tinubu.

2. Senator Babafemi Ojudu

Ojudu, an Ekiti State-born Ex-Lawmaker and Incumbent Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Political Matters also said he will not support the Presidential Ambition of Tinubu because the APC National Leader did not contribute to his Success story.

Ojudu added that he was already Successful in his journalism career before meeting Tinubu. The Former Senator who is a staunch Supporter of Nigeria’s Vice-president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo said it is necessary for him to follow his Conscience.
