Imo State Football Association Chairman, Amanze Uchegbulam is already planning to lobby the new governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma for more funding for the state football Team, Heartland Football club of Owerri.
The Imo FA boss says he would solicit for government’s financial support to the state team,as they continue to progress in the ongoing 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League
The former vice president of CAF Appeals Board told reporters in Owerri Thursday that he is particularly concerned with the welfare of Heartland FC in their campaign in the current NPFL.
“I’m concerned about the welfare of the team as any shortfall in funds could affect the team’s campaign in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
“The new governor is a true lover of the game of football and Heartland, being a state team and currently doing well in the league, should be encouraged financially in order to sustain their present form”
Meanwhile, Uchegbulam says firstly he would want to extend a big congratulation to the Governor for the victory at the Nigeria Supreme Court saying that the victory did not come easy.
“It is a victory that did not come easy, he fought doggedly and patiently to reclaim his mandate.
“I say congratulations to him once again”
