Nigerian humanitarian and justice advocate, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), has spoken out about his emotional struggle with the kidnapping of Prince Eniola Ojajuni, the National President of the Afenifere National Youth Council.
In a viral video, Prince Eniola was seen pleading for help, revealing that his kidnappers demanded a N100 million ransom. Verydarkman admitted that he was deeply moved by the video and almost withdrew N100 million from his NGO account to pay the ransom. However, he decided against it, citing his stance against emboldening kidnappers with ransom payments.
Verydarkman criticized those who showed apathy towards Prince Eniola’s plight due to his political ties, emphasizing that empathy should triumph over blame in times of life and death. He urged security agencies to take swift action, stressing that they bear the responsibility of protecting and serving.
The activist’s heartfelt plea highlights the need for a collective response to the growing insecurity in Nigeria, emphasizing that the fight against kidnapping requires a united front.
