Imo state police command has arrested and paraded two men suspected to be members of the Eastern Security Network formed by Nnamdi Kanu. The suspects were said to be linked to Late Joseph Uka Nnachi, AKA King of Dragon.
Imo state has been faced with security challenges for some months now but the Nigerian security operatives are doing all they can to reduce it to its barest minimum. The suspects paraded were identified as Chibuike Iheukwu, 18 years old boy who hails from Inyishi in Ikeduru LGA, and Jidechi Akakem, a 26-year-old man from Umuchoke, Orji in Owerri North LGA. They are both from Imo State.
The police revealed how they outsmarted the suspects after they uncovered their hideout in Emekwukwu, Owerri North LGA, Imo state. The notorious gang engaged them in a gun battle and fled with heavy wounds when they got overpowered. Jidechi and Chibuike weren’t able to escape like their colleagues, and they became the scapegoat.
According to the police, Jidechi had been on their wanted list of IPOB/ESN members; and he confessed that he worked with late Joseph Uka Nnachi. He revealed how they attacked Orji police station and perpetrated other criminal activities. The suspects confessed that they are members of a dreaded confraternity called Vikings, and their boss; Emmanuel Anyanwu aka “Walking Skeleton” ordered them to kill one chief who also resides in his area.
