What Police Officer Seen Preaching in 2021 Taught Us

The primary duties of the Nigerian Police Force are to protect people’s lives and properties, to prevent, detect and investigate crime and finally to prosecute offenders. But in one way or the other, we have seen some operatives of the Nigerian police doing what we may not have expected from them. This is not because such things were bad but because it looked surprising to watch them doing other things that will benefit the public. Such thing was what one of the police officers in Umuahia, Abia State did as he went on the street to preach the gospel in his uniform.
We are used to seeing operatives of the police carrying guns to do their duties, helping in controlling traffic but seeing an officer holding microphone and carrying chargeable speakers to teach the people is rare. Although this was not the first time members of the police were seen preaching in public while wearing their uniforms.
This police officer went from streets to streets, market places, motor parts, etc to teach the people the will of God.
Normally, we are used to seeing men wearing casual clothes or dressed in cooperate outfits to preach on the streets but seeing a man in a police uniform to preach attracted the attention of the people, and that also made some people listen to what he had to say.
Unlike few operatives of the Nigerian police whose activities have been publicly condemned by the NPF because they were working to tarnish the good reputation of the Nigerian police, this officer and others have proven that the Nigerian police force has lots of good people who may never compromise the rules that govern them no matter what.
According to him, “he was sleeping when God called him and gave him the mandate to preach to the people”.
