The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Olusade Adesola has called on the Officials of the 43rd National Council on Establishments (NCE) to consider their responsibility of planning and coordinating the annual Council meeting as highly invaluable to the effectiveness and efficiency of the country’s Civil Service.
The Permanent Secretary made the call on Monday, January 24th in Abuja when the Officials of the National Council on Establishments paid him a courtesy call.
The Permanent Secretary who explained that NCE is the apex policy formulation and clearance body on national establishment matters, assured the officials that the FCT Administration has put in place all necessary measures towards the success of the 43rd Council meeting.
Mr. Adesola who enjoined the Officials to take advantage of the meeting to network among themselves for future benefit, further added that FCT being the gateway to the nation and the Centre of Unity to all ethnic groups remains strategic as the venue for the 43rd National Council on Establishments meeting.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of Service Policies and Strategies Office, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole who led the Officials of the Council to pay courtesy on the FCTA Permanent Secretary, explained that the essence of the visit was to thank the FCT Administration for putting all measures in place to ensure that the meeting of the National Council on Establishment is hitch free as well as ensuring that participants have a worthwhile and memorable experience in FCT.
He further remarked that the Officials of the Council are poised to ensure they produce a world-class civil servants driven by high productivity and efficiency in service delivery.
In his welcome address, the Director, Department of Human Resources Management, FCTA, Dr. Bashir Muhammed expressed the readiness of the FCT Administration to work closely with all Officials and Delegates to ensure that the nation’s bureaucracy at all levels of government meet the expectations of Nigerians as well as support government in meeting the needs of the people.
Dr. Muhammed, who went on to charge civil servants to remain steadfast as the spine of the government and an embodiment of stability in difficult times, expressing confidence that the 43rd Council meeting will seek better ways to continuously improve on the efficiency of the nation’s bureaucratic structure.
While delivering vote of thanks, the Director in the Office of the FCT Permanent Secretary, Mr. Samuel Atang implored Officials and Delegates to take out time to enjoy the serenity, ambience and hospitality of the nation’s capital city.
