2022 Zuma Film Festival: FCTA, NFC Inaugurate Joint Cmmttee

Poised to ensure the success of the upcoming Zuma Film Festival, scheduled to hold on the 2nd to 9th April,2022 in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) have inaugurated a high powered joint sub-committee.

While inaugurating the committee on Thursday in Area 11, Abuja, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory Administration,Mr.Olusade Adesola who described the exercise as historic, expressed delight over the designation of Abuja as the host city for the film festival.

Mr. Adesola who assured the Nigerian Film Corporation of the readiness of the FCT Administration to ensure the success of the festival, charged members of the committee to justify the confidence reposed in them by working assiduously towards the success of the epoch-making event.

The Permanent Secretary listed some of the derivable benefits the festival will bring to FCT Administration and the country at large to include employment opportunities, boosting the creative industry, reduction of crime rate in the Territory, revenue generation, among others.

He also remarked that the show which will provide platform to sustain recognition of Nigerian film makers who are adding the needed value to the development of the creative art and business will ensure Abuja is agog with beehive of activities as a result of the thrills and frills of the festival.

Speaking earlier, the Nigerian Film Corporation Managing Director.Dr. Chidia Maduekwe explained that with the inauguration, all necessary structures required for the success of the festival will now be aggressively pursued.

Dr. Maduekwe who expressed confidence that the event will shape the Nigerian economy immensely, said all hands must be on deck for the success of the festival.
