As the Nigerian national basketball teams prepare for the forthcoming Africa 3 on 3 Championship, Head coach of the men’s team Chris Acha has assured that both male and female teams would compete strongly in this year’s tournament.
Chris, while addressing journalists during their training sessions at the package B said ” having been given adequate preparations, We are unfazed by any opponents weather host country or not., because target is to go there and win regardless of the qualities of other countries
“We took out time picking and assembling these players before camping. Most the players with us are in top shapes, having participated at just concluded All African games and Zenith bank leagues respectively ” he affirmed
Chris Acha discloses more important recipes that earned these players opportunity in 3 on 3 ” We look at their shooting intelligence, and ability to last longer on the court because the game of 3 on 3 is extremely Intense with different rules entirely “
“All thanks to the coordinator Nigeria’s 3 on 3, Frank Zutibur who prepared us early enough for this competition and we are going to make huge statement this time ” he maintained
Nigeria, Having won Gold medal at 2017 edition of 3 on 3, the men’s team however won silver in 2018 and the female team came fourth same year.
The Nigeria 3 on 3 basketball teams begun their preparations over two months and we be playing; Mauritius, Host Uganda in group D. While the female team plays Host Uganda and Kenya, as this year’s 3 on 3 kick starts from 7 to 14 of November, 2019
