3rd Edition of the Africa Para Badminton Workshop flaggs off in Abuja

The Badminton Federation of Nigeria officially flagged off the 3rd Edition of the Africa Para Badminton Workshop on Wednesday, 6th November, 2019 at the Gymnastics Hall of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.


The event, which had participants from a total of 15 African countries including Nigeria, is a four-day event terminating on the 9th November, 2019 and is aimed at developing and sharpening the skills and coaching abilities of the coaches and players of para badminton.


It is an initiative of the Badminton World Federation, BWF and the Badminton Confederation of Nigeria, BCA. 
The workshop is anchored by a high-powered team of tutors headed by a Badminton World Federation (BWF) tutor, Anton N.Ivanovic from Russia and comprises of Annirao Dajee (Mauritius), Ahmed Reda Badr (Egypt) and Nonvide B.Bokpe (Benin Republic).


The President of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria, Francis Orbih Esq. has worked tirelessly to ensure smooth takeoff and execution of the program and has constituted a high powered committee with the Federation’s Vice President, Alhaji Mohammed Maina as Chairman.


Nigeria is hosting the program for the first time and it is so far the largest assembly of participants from African countries. The workshop was declared open by the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development Mr. Sunday Dare was represented by his SA on Sports Development, Ambassador Mary Onyali. 


The program continues into it’s Second Day today Thursday, 7th November, 2019.
