Tammy Abraham completed his €40 million move to Roma. His journey at Chelsea became uncertain after Romelu Lukaku joined the club, breaking their transfer record.
He replaced Edin Dzeko, who joined Inter Milan to replace Romelu Lukaku. It was a smart move by the Englishman after he saw fewer playing minutes under Thomas Tuchel last season.
The forward will be under Jose Mourinho this season and hopefully the Portuguese manager will get the best out of him.
Jose Mourinho has been a world-class manager and is always welcomed at any club. It wasn’t difficult for Jose Mourinho to pick up the Roma job after Tottenham Hotspur sacked him a few weeks before the season ended.
Tammy Abraham will surely enjoy certain things under Jose Mourinho this season. Here are two things Tammy Abraham will enjoy.
1. He’ll Get More Playing Time: Tammy Abraham was an important part of Chelsea’s Champions League success last season, but he wasn’t involved in much. The Englishman was their top scorer for two seasons, he joined Chelsea as a child and made his way to the senior team. Tammy Abraham deserved more at Chelsea, but he wasn’t as good as Thomas Tuchel expected.
Tammy Abraham will get more playing time at Roma this season. The Englishman has the potential but has still yet to unleash that talent. Jose Mourinho fancy players like Tammy Abraham, he will give the Englishman more time in the first team. While at Chelsea, Jose Mourinho didn’t give young players like Kevin de Bruyne and Mohammed Salah much playing time, but that will change with Tammy Abraham.
2. He’ll Be His Favourite Number 9 At Roma: Tammy Abraham will wear the number 9 jersey previously worn by Edin Dzeko. Dzeko wants the only striker Roma has. Tammy Abraham will still have to compete with 26-year old Eldor Shomurodov and 24-year old Borja Mayoral for the first team place.
Wearing the number 9 doesn’t guarantee his place in the first team, but Jose Mourinho will make Tammy Abraham his favourite striker as time goes on. Tammy Abraham already connected easily with Jose Mourinho, see photos below.
