Gov Okowa’s sister-in-law kidnapped near govt house

Unknown gunmen have, Monday night, kidnapped Elizabeth, the younger sister to the wife of the governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, in Asaba, the state capital.

Elizabeth, immediate younger sister to Dame Edith, was allegedly accosted by a gang of young men at Temple Clinic junction, along Awai Road near Government House and taken away in a waiting vehicle.

She was said to be driving a black Jeep when the gang abducted her A source at the Government House in Asaba said “they shot endlessly into the air to scare away people. “Out of fear, the lady, who was ordered out of her vehicle, jumped into their waiting vehicle.”

The source on Wednesday said the incident has since thrown the governor, wife and her entire family into trauma, adding that no contact has been established with the family or any personality in government.

The source added that, for obvious security reasons, the governor and his family are keeping the matter out of public domain for now.
