Two goals scored in the first half by Samuel Chukuweze and Taiwo Awoniyi and a third one scored by Moses Simon in the second half ensured the Super Eagles of Nigeria beat their Sudanese counterparts 3-1 in a Group D clash of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) at Garoua in Cameroon to advance to the knockout phase of the competition.
The victory makes it two out of two for the Super Eagles at the ongoing AFCON in Cameroon. They had defeated a Mohammed Salah led Egyptian team in the first match played.
The Austin Eguavoen led Super Eagles seem to be in good spirit as they seem to have put aside their disappointing performances during the reign of former Manager, Genort Rohr with scintillating displays.
