As the day for the Super Eagles not too important AFCON qualifying match against the Seychelles National side, and the international friendly match with the Egyptian side draws near, Super Eagles and SC Paderborn 07 left back Jamilu Collins has stated that the matches will not be treated with less seriousness and are determined to winning both matches come March 22nd and the 26th at the Asaba International stadium, Delta state.
More so, Jamilu noted that the Eagles Coach has already told the players that full preparations for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) would commence with the two matches and he is aware of the fact that fierce battle for shirts in the Egypt bound Eagles has started.
“The AFCON qualifying match and the friendly against Egypt are important matches because the Coach has told us that they are very important matches for AFCON preparations. So our ambition is to win the two matches and to play well too.
“Playing for the Eagles is a very serious business because there are lots of very talented players that are on standby ready to snatch your shirts if you fail to perform well and to the expectation of the Coach.
“That is the reason why I have been working very hard in my club to be very fit whenever I am called to the Eagles camp. It is a rare privilege to be a Super Eagles player and I am not ready to lose my shirt in the team now.
“I will continue to work very hard and play to the instruction of the team handler to justify my position in the team. I am very happy that I made the team of 23 for the Seychelles and Egypt matches”, Collins disclosed from his base in Germany.
