After due consultation with the International Olympic Committee, IOC, the Japanese Government has announced the postponement of the 2020 Olympic Games due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The International Olympic Committee and the Japanese Government had been reluctant to postpone the Games taking into consideration the loss that will be incurred from the postponement and also believing that the vaccine might be found before the commencement date.
But with the pandemic still ravaging countries and with top countries threatening to pull out of the Games, the Japanese Government had no choice but to announce the postponement.
The Games has now been moved to next summer.
