The Nasarawa State Government has directed the closure of all schools in the state as from Monday, 23 March, for a period of one month.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Education , Science and Technology, on Tuesday, signed by Usman I. Abu, Permanent Secretary, it has become necessary to shut all schools in the state, including tertiary institutions, following growing concern and gradual spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Abu disclosed that the Governor of the state, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, directed the closure of schools in the state in order to restrict public gathering, aimed at containing the spread of the virus.
The statement further advised parents and guardians to ensure that their children and wards stay at home during the period of lock down.
