Easter: Sen Al-makura felicitates with Christians, calls for prayers for peace to reign

Senator Umaru Tanko Al-makura (APC, Nasarawa South), has felicitates with Christian faithful on the occasion of the Easter celebration, urging for prayers for peace to reign across the country.

Senator Al-makura made this known in a message he personally signed, issued on Saturday in Lafia.

The lawmaker, a former governor of Nasarawa State and Chairman, Senate Committee on Solid Minerals, Mines, Steel Development and Metallurgy, particularly sought for Christian faithful to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abdullahi Sule, for peace to reign in the country.

He appealed to the citizens of the state to remain sober, especially at such trying moments, when the whole world is being ravaged by the COVID-19 pandemic, urging for collective prayers against the virus.

While enjoining the people of Nasarawa South senatorial zone, as well as the people of the state, to  be passionate about their society and extend love to people around at this period, the lawmaker, posited that the lesson of Jesus’ death and resurrection as explained in the Holy Bible, “is a demonstration of love and selflessness and as beneficiary of his undying love, we must extend same to our fellow humans.”
