An Oil expert and Consultant to the Domestic Refinery owner Association, Jude Samuelson has stated that the Nation stand to benefit so much if President Muhammadu Buhari gives approval to the proposal of the Domestic Refinery Owners Association requesting for the establishment of Modular refineries in each state of the Niger Delta.

Speaking exclusively with www.theajasanews.com in Abuja, the consultant maintained that the establishment of these modular refineries is what Nigeria has been waiting for to be able to solve all the barrage of challenges facing the Nation oil production processes.

Mr Samuelson continued, “That is the solution Nigeria has been waiting for, that is, if the boys are given the approval to establish modular refineries. Most problems will be off because the boys will leave the creeks, there will be no more pollution, there will be no more tension. They will help the country to sustain its citizens with the product. It will be a huge plus if that is done and I believe that if the Government can consent to this request it will go a long way.

He stressed that the Government is going about stopping illegal refineries the wrong way noting that all efforts to stop them by bombing and bombarding the areas has not yielded any meaningful result

“I think the Government is trying to do its best to stop the process, but it is very obvious that they are taking the wrong approach and that is why when they asked the boys to stop illegal refineries some of them left the creek and came together to form the domestic owners refineries of Nigeria. So they are the people proffering solution to help the government stopping what they have not been able to stop.

“The Federal government has been using the wrong approach and they are going to see the difference because the proposal DOAN is making is very straight forward and I think that every reasonable government will consent to this because they have helped the government to stop what they have not been able to stop. That approach of bombarding and bombing the refineries has never worked because each time they bomb it take them just two weeks to build back. So it was not sustainable, but this process is sustainable. When you give them Modular refineries they have promised to use their hands to dismantle them.

“When you give them Modular Refineries they will use the same energy they use to produce locally refined product to produce for the Federal Government and support the Federal Government in having product available at cheaper rates. So, the country does not need to import fuel anymore because we will be self sufficient, and when we are self sufficient we will no longer factor in the dollar price and the products will be cheap and Nigerians will be happy.

“I am very sure that if the boys are locally empowered they will do it and they will satisfy Nigerians,” he concluded
