Faruk Mohammed Ofoku representing OBI 1 Constituency has declared to contest for the Nasarawa State House of Assembly under the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.

The vibrant Youth leader who made this known to www.theajasanews.com on Wednesday in Lafia said he is in a much better position to occupy that position since as a youth leader he can relate very well with all the categories of persons in the Constituency.

Bellow is his declaration speach:

Distinguished Indigenes of our great Constituency, Royal Fathers across Chiefdoms, APC Party Stakeholders, elder statesmen and women, political leaders across the 5 Electoral wards, Students from the various institutions of knowledge, army of unemployed and under-employed youths across communities in the constituency, friends and associates across nations, Ladies and Gentlemen.

It is with great pleasure to formally inform the general public of my utmost desire to contest for the position of Nasarawa State House of Assembly member representing the good people of OBI 1 constituency in the 2023 General Elections under the platform of our esteemed All Progressive Congress (APC).

In the course of nation-building engagements, from student unionism and Youth Leadership, bearing the burdens of individuals, families, social and economic empowerment, I have seen enough reason to realise that the dream of the downtrodden most especially women and Youths is not yet a reality.

I can relate to the young and aged women walking to Okpa-Ko-Dah river in Obi community, Okpeseh river in Agwatashi community, Oruwe-ruwe river in Daddare Community, Rafin Kwalbeti in Adudu Community, Okpa Ko Shala river in Tudun Adabu to fetch water to quench taste and meetup house choirs.

I identified the drive that propels my fellow young people to engage in odd jobs and other social vices. I have walked in the shoes of my fellow youths who attended and sponsored themselves through secondary schools, polytechnic, colleges and universities. I have walked the lanes of suffering and hunger in my pre and post stages of Education.

With these realities, I am offering myself as a bridge;

A bridge connecting the son of a nobody to avalanche of Opportunities.

A bridge connecting the dream of a well invigorated Health Care System.

A bridge connecting our brothers and sisters who are not priviledged to education gain self reliance through social and economic empowerment.

A bridge connecting my constituents to Basic Social Amenities.

A bridge to a new Obi 1 constituency where dividends of democracy will be equally shared across communities.

Dear Obi 1 Constituency, I am a new order to Human Development where my first, second and third priorities is to create an enabling environment for the betterment of all.

I will strive harder to close the distance between reality and dream, I will unlock the acceleration of social and economic transformation and also infuse our young people with a surge of hope of job opportunities and effective representation.

I shall roll my sleeves up and bring up public legislations and policies that will quench our intractable problems and create a new dynamics to leadership where everyone can contribute to the socio-economic development of the Constituency.

With my wide national contacts, I will be committed to providing job opportunities to our army of unemployed youth, women skills and empowerment programs, drilling of boreholes, renovation and improvement of our muribund primary and secondary schools, create a Scholarship Scheme for the indigent and ensure the promotion of educational development among others.

This is a new order that must be accomplished for the sake of humanity, thank you and God bless.
