As the day for the election into the board of the FCT FA draws near and with new candidates gunning for the chairmanship position, current chairman of the FCT Football Association, Musa Talle has declared that those gunning to dethrone him have nothing to offer.

In a chart with www.theajasanews.com, Talle noted that his opponents are members of his current board that have not contributed anything to the progress of the board and for the development of football in the Federal Capital Territory. He questioned how persons who are part of his current board but failed to perform could now suddenly desire to become the chairman.

“All these opponents that are contesting for the FA Chairmanship are part the current board, both my vice chairman and the chairman of the technical committee, what have they offered to the board since they think the chairman has not done anything or what advise have they given for the progress of the Association?

I have given them all the opportunity for them to come in and assist the FA and for us to develop football in the territory. What have they done? The marketing committee and the technical committee, these other contestants are the once chairing these committees. Ask them if you are close to them, what have they done, either in terms of sponsorship or any other thing that they were able to bring to the board? They have not done anything,” Talle blasted.

On what effort his board has made to reduce the pressure on the Area 3 playing field, Talle revealed that they have put machineries in place to see that new football playing grounds are opened up at other Area councils of the Territory.

“At the beginning of this year, we toured the six Area councils to see some of the stadia that we have that have not been completed. We have written report and sent it to the sports council for onward submission to the minister of the Federal Capital territory. I have been in touch with them; they say they are doing something. On our own we have made contacts with the Area council chairmen, how they can be able to put the facilities at their domain in place. Some of them need only fencing and grassing to complete.

“And some o the Area council’s chairmen are willing to see how they would bring the stadia to the level where it will be comfortable enough for people to come and make use of it. And the Area 10 field we are also doing something and very soon some of the clubs would come back there,” he concluded.
