FCTA Allocates Land To ICAN, Vows To Support Staff Professional Development

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has assured all professional and corporate bodies in the nation’s Capital of its continue support towards the development of an all-inclusive Capital City for Nigerians.

Permanent Secretary, FCTA, Mr. Olusade Adesola,gave this assurance Tuesday, while presenting theRight of Occupancy (R-of-O) of a plot of landmeasuring about 10.24 hectares in Pyati District (Cadastral Zone L23), in the Federal Capital Territory, allocated to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) delegation, who paidhim a working visit in his office, Area 11, Garki I District, Abuja.

Adesola, said the Administration is willing to partner with any corporate body that is desirous oftransecting business in the FCT and as well, contributing its quota to the growth and development of the city.

He also revealed that the Administration will encourage its workforce to acquire professional training in their respective fields so as to improve on their productivity for the good of the Administration.

His words: “The Administration will always encourage its staff to imbibe the necessary skills, technical know-how and expertise in their professional careers in order to enhance the performance of their duties.”

He acknowledged that the Mandatory Continuous Professional Education (MCPE), usually organized by some professional bodies yearly is to improve the well-being of their members and the staff of the FCT Administration will always take advantage of such training windows.

Earlier, President of ICAN, Dr. Innocent Okwuosa, appreciated the warm reception accorded his team and informed the Permanent Secretary of theInstitute’s plans to organize its 53rd Annual Accountants Conference in Abuja in October this year.

The land, which was  presented to the leadership of ICAN was approved by the former FCT Minister, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello.
