The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a disclaimer to correct a misleading report circulating on social media regarding a recent posting within the Corps.

In a statement dated February 9, 2026, the FRSC clarified that the officer appointed as Sector Commander is Corps Commander A. S. Ogungbemi. The Corps, however, noted that the photograph accompanying the report does not belong to the newly posted Sector Commander.

According to the FRSC, the image being circulated is that of Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, the Corps Public Education Officer, and its use in connection with the posting is inaccurate and misleading.

The Corps urged members of the public and media practitioners to disregard the false narrative, verify information through official FRSC communication channels, and refrain from spreading unverified or incorrect reports.

Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and professionalism, the FRSC emphasized the importance of accurate public information and responsible reporting.

The statement was signed by Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, Corps Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps Headquarters, Abuja.
