1. Avoid Exposure To Direct Sunlight.

The easiest way to prevent or stop your phone from overheating is to keep your phone out of direct contact with sunlight. Your phone taps light and heat from the rays of the sun and retains it, which makes your phone overheat or get hotter the longer it remains in sunlight and heat.

2. Avoid Turning On Unused Apps On Your Phone.

Many apps running in the background of your device consume a lot of battery power quickly. And, as a result, end up overheating your phone or causing your phone to heat up.

Avoid keeping bunches of apps on your phone. Instead, uninstall the apps you have stopped using for a long time or turn off open, unused apps running in the background to prevent your phone from retaining too much heat.

Uninstalling or turning off unused apps will increase the battery life of your phone, and also enables your phone to have a cooling effect.

3. Avoid Turning Up Your Screen Brightness.

Just the same as running apps in the background, turning up your screen brightness will trigger your phone’s battery to work harder/tirelessly and generate excess heat. Instead, get an anti-glare cover for your phone; this can aid you to see your screen while in the sun, that is, you don’t have to strain your eyes when operating your phone in the sun.

4. Turn On Airplane Mode For Your Device.

Turning on airplane mode for your phone or device help preserve battery life, thereby reducing the amount of heat your phone accumulates or retains.

Airplane mode also enables you to have access to basic functions on your phone, but ensure that you turn off other non-essentials that can force your battery to work harder or take a toll on your battery.

5. Take The Case Of Your Phone Off.

In a situation whereby your phone is overheating, your phone case isn’t a possible solution to avoid it.

Removing or taking off the case will allow the heat vents of the phone to perform their task fully without blockage, and this will in turn cool down your phone quickly.

It is also advisable you remove your smartphone’s silicon or rubber cover while charging as the phone will resist overheating while charging.
