Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state, has commiserated with the government and people of Taraba state over the passing of the Aku-Uka of Wukari, Dr. Shekarau Angyu Musa-Ibi Kuvyo II.

Dr. Makut Simon Macham, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor of Plateau, said this in a statement in Jos on Thursday.

While condoling with the family, the traditional council and the entire Jukun nation, Lalong described the passage of the Aku Uka as painful.

He, however, said there was great consolation in the fact that he lived a fruitful and long life where he impacted positively on the lives of his people and society at large.

Extolling the virtues of the late traditional ruler, the governor said Aku Uka was a man of peace and goodwill towards all manners of people, irrespective of their background.

He added that the reign of the late paramount ruler brought peace and unity across Taraba and beyond.

Lalong urged the Jukun race to uphold the good legacies of their late ruler which he said were integrity, unity, loyalty and peaceful coexistence.

The Long Gamai of Shendam, Miskoom Hubert Shaldas III, at the condolence visit, said the passage of the Aku Uka brought peace and progress to the land as well as improved the lives of the Jukun people.

Shaldas said the Gamai nation would continue to remember its roots in the Kwararafa Kingdom and also uphold the rich history and tradition that has made the people stand out anywhere in the world.
