The Lagos State Government has been presented with 20,000 devices for online teaching and learning in Lagos State Schools.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who received the e-learning devices presented to his government by First Bank at the Lagos House, Marina, stated that the event was part of measures aimed at actualising the vision and effort of his T.H.E.M.ES agenda in the provision of one million devices to school children in order to improve the learning output, as a strong enabler for the future.

The Governor urged stakeholders to continue to partner with the state government, as the provision of quality education could not be achieved without technology, saying the government on its part, was committed to providing 50,000 devices.

Sanwo-Olu commended the management of the bank, the education ministry and other stakeholders, for their intervention in ensuring every child in the state have a learning tool to improve their education.

Speaking earlier, Commissioner for Education, Folashade Adefisayo, said the presentation of the 20,000 online devices by the bank, was part of the initiative to support the provision of quality online education as part of global movement, especially during the COVID 19 pandemic.

A representative of the students, Sherifat Umar, commended the donor, the ministry and Governor Sanwo-Olu for his efforts and administrative acumen, as well as advancing the goodwill in ensuring their future was structured.
