The president of the league of patriotic lawyers, Barr. Abubakar Yesufu had hailed the nomination of Barr Olu Kayode by President Bola Tinubu as a ‘breath of fresh air in the comission.’ Urging the senate to confirm the appointment immediately.

The lawyers group reassured that with a lawyer at the hem of affairs of the comission, the outfit would have a human face and would be well positioned to take it to the next level by ensuring that crimes can be detected before commission thereby avoiding the arduous task of prosecution, conviction and recoveries that is often involved in the beleaguered attempt to sanitize the country of corrupt practices.

Barr ABUBAKAR Yesufu, enjoined Senate to proceed to confirm the appointment and ignore the ‘naysayers’ who are waving the flag of ‘non-qualification’ at this young, vibrant and dynamic new EFCC boss. Apart from the ethnic balancing which Ola-Olu Kayode is bringing to the equation as the first EFCC boss from the South, his numerous qualifications, training and re training shows that he’s a round peg in a round hole.

The leagues boss, Barr ABUBAKAR Yesufu says that Olu Kayode is a member of the institute of arbitration in France. He is also an alumnus of Kennedy School of Executive Education, University of Harvard, United States. With well over 22 years of cognate experience as a regulatory compliance consultant and specialist in fraud management and corporate intelligence. Olu Kayode also worked in the law firm of former Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo before joining the EFCC where he acted as Chief of staff to the then executive Chairman, Ibrahim Magu between 2018/2023 and he gave a good account of himself as a focused personality assisting in positioning the outfit to the enviable role of the commission during the said period, the leagues boss concluded.
