Members of the National Assembly workers who have commenced an indefinate strike on Monday to demand for an improved working condition have outrightly rejected a call for a Town Hall meeting with the management.

The workers were summoned to the Town Hall meeting through a circular signed by the Secretary, Human Resource and staff development, Suraju Abiodun Oladoyin so as to discuss the way out of the ongoing strike action.

The memo to the meeting read,

“Invitation to Town Hall Meeting

I am directed to invite the entire staff of National Assembly and Commision to  Town Hall meeting tomoro- Monday, 6th June 2022. The meeting which has been scheduled for Senate Committee Room 231 will hold at 11am prompt

Signed

Sec, HR&SD”

The Ajasa news media gathered that the workers saw the meeting as one of the management ploy to cajoled them into returning to work with the same lame promise that their demands would be attended to.

Some of the workers who spoke with our correspondent at the protest ground maintained that they have no other choice but to enbark on the strike since that is the only language the management understands.

Meanwhile, the workers have so far been enjoying Day 1 of the strike/protest as they were seen having a nice time on the protest ground.

Bellow are some of the live pictures and video from the protest ground.
