NewPhase Gospel Club, an arm of Newphase Full Gospel Church, has donated food items and toiletries to orphans in Mararaba, Nasarawa state, near the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

During the donation of the items to Zion Gate Orphanage and Charity Home at the weekend, Senior Pastor of the Church, Matthew Agada said the initiative was in line with the understanding of God’s plan and purpose for humanity, which emphasize love as enshrined in the Bible.

He explained that Christians should live by example, especially by showing love to those who thought they have no hope.

“Serving God is love, the Bible says He sent His only begotten Son, by reason of love into this world. And Christ came expressed that love with His whole life, the Bible say He went about doing good, it is the footsteps of Christ that we are following.

“The best way to really prove that you have accepted the Gospel of Christ is to practically use the Gospel. And that’s by showing love to those that need to be cared for, they need food and other important issues.

“Let other Nigerians emulate what we’re doing, the more you give, the more you care for other people, the more you feed other people who don’t have enough to eat. The more you clothe the naked you are fulfilling the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. And the more you do it, the more God blesses you, so I want to encourage you, every other person that has the capacity to give.

“You don’t have to be excessively rich, before you support those who are in need. At every level, people can contribute to make life better.”

Collaborating, the Patron, NewPhase Gospel Club and Medical Director Newlife Specialist Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre, Kurudu-FCT, Dr Noah Ekele said donating to the Orphanage will help the owner to continue to provide for the children under her care.

He noted that the initiative followed the Ministry of Christ, who was going about doing good to people in different areas.

“We want to join our sister to care for the people who have not father and mother, is not good to leave her alone, as we have started, we’re going to places all over the world to care, especially the needy, who are mostly orphans”

Ekele urged the government to do more by providing food for the needy in the society.

“Our call to the government is to look inward and outward to see that the needy are cared for, no matter how many programs that they can feed. Poverty alleviation and food should come first”

The Patron appealed to Government officials that they should look or make sure that the programs are implemented to affect the people who are really in need of them.

On her part, Proprietor of the Orphanage, Mrs. Kaima Udeonu commended the church for the kind gesture.

She urged other individuals and organizations to support the orphans by providing for their food and school fees.
