PDP NEC Ratifies Congresses, Affirms Zoning Ahead of National Convention

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has ratified the outcomes of its recently concluded congresses and reaffirmed its zoning arrangement for national elective positions as part of preparations for its forthcoming national convention.
This was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the party’s 107th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Monday in Abuja.

In the communiqué signed by the Chairman of the PDP National Caretaker Working Committee, Abdulrahman Mohammed, and the committee’s Secretary, Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, the NEC expressed satisfaction with the conduct of ward, local government, state and zonal congresses nationwide.
The committee commended party leaders, electoral committees and members for their discipline and adherence to due process, noting that the exercises were peaceful, transparent and credible.
NEC also reviewed the ongoing electronic membership registration and applauded the progress recorded so far. It reaffirmed its commitment to building a comprehensive, credible and technology-driven membership database, urging members across the country to actively participate in the exercise.
On party structure and inclusiveness, NEC reaffirmed the zoning formula for national elective positions, describing it as consistent with the PDP’s principles of equity, fairness and national balance. The zoning arrangement, it said, would guide the forthcoming national convention.
The committee further announced that the sale of nomination forms for the convention has commenced, advising all interested aspirants to comply strictly with the approved guidelines and timelines.
Reiterating its readiness for the convention, NEC directed relevant organs and committees of the party to ensure seamless coordination for a successful, credible and transparent exercise, themed “A Convention of Inclusiveness, Unity and Renewal.”
The PDP leadership also emphasized party supremacy and called on members to remain united, disciplined and committed to the collective interest of the party.
Expressing confidence in the party’s renewed strength and unity, NEC assured Nigerians of the PDP’s readiness to provide purposeful leadership and national direction.
