It was a gathering of the high and the mighties during the closing ceremony of the YSM 2019 Abuja School Games which took place at the main bowl of the Moshood Abiola stadium, Abuja on Friday.

Senator Ned Nwoko, Olayinka Suleiman, and several International scouts addressing the students

Topping the list of dignitaries present was Senator Ned Nwoko who stormed the venue with arrays of International sporting scouts. The former Senator used the opportunity of his presence to encourage the participating students, while also appreciating them for being the privileged once chosen to represent their various schools at the Games.

The closing Ceremony also had in attendance former Super Eagles gaffer, Samson Siasia. The General Manager of the Nigeria Television Authority, Mr. Paul Atteh was also on ground to cheer the students Athletes.

There were representatives of the diplomatic corp present at the occasion. Proprietors of most of the participating schools were also on ground to cheer the students, while several of the parents were not left out.

Convener of the Games, Olayinka Suleiman told www.theajasanews.com that she was really overwhelmed by the response of the dignitaries at the closing ceremony, noting that the response has gone further to reinforce the believe that she was indeed doing the right thing.

“I cannot actually tell you how I am feeling right now. I am overwhelmed, over joyous and full of thanks to God. The response has gone to reinforce my determination to make next year event even a better one. With the caliber of persons that graced the closing ceremony it has gone to show that Nigerians are looking forward to Games like this and I thank God that we have started this,” she said.

It was indeed fun all the way for the students whom most of them have never had the opportunity to participate at such Games, especially staged at the magnificent Moshood Abiola stadium.
