Fraudsters have started using the opportunity of POS machines to defraud people. How? They have specially configured some POS to steal people’s ATM card information. If you are the type that patronizes POS centers, you will observe that we now have different POS machines provided by different companies. There is nothing like android POS before, now we have a lot of android POS, this POS has wireless and it will be connected to the agent’s Android phone.

It’s really painful seeing people around me getting scammed every day. I’m a POS agent and I will always use my writeup to educate people on how they can get scammed. Fraudsters have opened POS centers. They have specially configured POS machines. You need to be very careful when you want to use a POS machine to withdraw money.

1. POS Without Any Banks’ Name or Online platform written on it.

Registered Banks and Online payment platforms are those providing POS machines for agents. When you visit the POS center to withdraw, check the terminal to see if you can see any name written on it.

Please don’t insert your ATM card on the POS machine if you can’t find any name on it. The reason is, it might be a specifically configured POS machines from unauthorized organizations to steal people’s ATM card information.

2. POS that doesn’t generate receipts for customers

These kinds of POS terminals are now common among POS agents, I will advise you not to use your ATM card on it for security reasons.

The reason is that, there’s something we called dispense error, that when POS transaction wasn’t successful but the customer got debited due to network failure. If you used a POS that doesn’t generate a receipt, there is no evidence to claim your money in the bank. You may have to forget the money irrespective of the money the POS debited you.
