Pre-season friendly: Nosa Igiebor led Abuja Professionals defeat Paul Onobi led Benue professionals

Former Super Eagles player, Nosa Igiebor led a group of foreign and local based Abuja professional to defeat Paul Onobi led Benue professional’s one nil in a pre-season friendly match played at the Area 3 Abuja playing ground on Saturday.

The Abuja professionals had other top foreign professional footballers like, Eto Daniel, Prince Aggreh, and several others while the Benue professionals also had player like Anthony Okpotu among several other foreign and local based professionals.

Speaking on the essence of the friendly match, one of the organizers, Obinna Eleje  told www.theajasanews.com that it was their way of getting of building a bond of friendship withing themselves.

“It’s something we came to gather to organize, because we have enough professionals who play both in the Nigeria league and outside the country who are based in Abuja here. So this is the only avenue, and we say lets put it up and see how we can get ourselves together and also draw out crowd. This is the only way we can interact when we are on break. This is the only way we can get to see the players that are playing abroad when we are on break.

“It’s something we just started  with, when you are coming, come with your white top before we now graduated to the level that we now have a jersey. And now it is becoming very big and we are expecting that it is going to be bigger in the coming years.

The player who just ran out his contract with Katsina United last season praised the league management company for harmonizing the Nigeria league calendar with that of the of the foreign league,

“The harmonization of the Nigeria league really helped us to be able to realize this. Before now when the home based players are around, the Nigeria league players will be in season, but now we are together,” he concluded.
