Senator Godswill Akpabio, APC North West Senatorial District (Ikot Ekpene) from Akwa Ibom State, has won the support of majority of the party chieftains, members-elect in the various political offices, and above all, the endorsement by the President elect, His Excellency, Ahmed Bola Tinubu as the preferred and candidate of choice as President of the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Giving the above, Barrister Adams Cecilia, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and a Senatorial aspirant from the Northern Senatorial District of Cross River State in the 2022 general elections, has called on members-elect into the Red Chambers to rally round and ensure victory for Senator Godswill Akpabio when the 10th Senate is inaugurated on the 13th of June 2023, after the proclamation of the 10th National Assembly by the President and voting conducted for the leadership position of the Senate.

Barrister Cecilia who spoke to newsmen in Abuja over the weekend, noted that with more than 65 endorsements by the 109 senators elect in the 10th Senate, called on the rest Senators to throw their weight behind Senator Godswill Akpabio to ensure final victory for him as President of the Senate.

She further observed that to pull the levers of equity, justice, fair play and inclusive governance in the Nigerian political realm and for peace, unity, progress and national cohesion, the position of President of the Senate should be zoned to the South-South region of the country, adding that the choice of Senator Akpabio as President of the Senate will be an excellent representation of the region.

Speaking on the qualities of Senator Akpabio for the presidency of the Senate, Barrister Cecilia stated that besides his excellent track records of experience in political governance and administration, having served as a Commissioner, a Governor for two terms, a Minister of the Federal Republic and a ranking member of the senate, Sen Akpabio is a resilient politician willing to sacrifice his career for the good of the party.

She said this quality, Senator Akpabio has vividly displayed as the first presidential aspirant to step down and endorsed the president-elect during the primary election in June 2022 as well as giving up his position as the Minority Leader in the Senate when he defected to the All Progressive Congress, the APC.
