Seychelles battle: Rohr thrilled by Super Eagles players form in Europe

Ahead of Super Eagles not too important Africa cup of Nations cup qualifiers against Seychelles billed to hold on March 22nd at the Asaba International stadium in Delat state, Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr is full of happiness over the forms of most of his players in Europe.

The German- French tactician particularly hailed the heart warming performance of Rotterdam FC defender Semi Ajayi who scored a brace for his Championship side.

The Coach also expressed joy with his other Super Eagles players like Shehu Abdullahu and Oghenekaro Etebo who also scored their respective clubs at the weekend.

Semi Ajayi has so far scored four goals in seven matches played consecutively and Rohr is quite excited about this. Semi help secured 3-2 victory against Blackburn Rovers scoring two headers in the match.

Super Eagles and Stoke City of England midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo also scored his first league goal for his team Stoke City at home at Bet 365 Stadium in the 15th minute against Nottingham Forest on Saturday before he was substituted in the 65th minute due to a minor injury he coped  for his side in the Championship in England. Stoke won the match 2-0.

Super Eagles and Bursaspor of Turkey defender Shehu Abdullahi was also in action for his club on Saturday where he scored his first goal to make the team return to winning ways against Sivasspor.

Eagles handler Rohr was happy with the performance of his players for their respective clubs in Europe at the weekend which he believed would make the players very fit for the Seychelles and the Egypt matches.

“I am very happy about the performance of Semi Ajayi for his team Rotterdam  yesterday (Saturday). Shehu Abdullahi also scored for Bursaspor while Etebo Oghenekaro also scored his first ever goal in Stoke City colours.

If they continue like this then their fitness level while coming for Seychelles and Egypt matches will be great”, Rohr disclosed.
