Super Eagles of Nigeria star Samuel Chukwueze has become the first player in UEFA Champions League history to score a goal in just 1 minute played, after coming from the bench to score Villarreal football club’s last goal in their remarkable 4-1 away victory over Young Boys FC.

The Nigerian international was given his debut in the UEFA Champions League by coach Unai Emery and he was able to impress after being introduced to the pitch towards the end of the game.

Samuel Chukwueze has not been able to start a game for Villarreal football club this season, and he has only made his only two appearances for the club from the bench.

The 2015 FIFA under 17 world cup winner has missed all Villarreal football club’s matches this season, having suffered an injury in their goalless draw against Arsenal FC last season and he was able to return to action in their last game on Sunday.

Goals from Gerard Moreno, Yeremi Pino, Alberto Moreno and substitute Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze were enough to give the Spanish Laliga Santander giants a deserved victory, despite the fact that Meschack Elia netted a goal for the home team.

Prior to Wednesday night’s game, Samuel Chukwueze has never played in the UEFA Champions League, and he was able to make a new record after being introduced in the 89th minutes.

“Samuel Chukwueze is the first player in UEFA Champions League history to score in just one minute played in the competition (1 minute of action, 1 goal).”

Here are the players with few minutes played in the UEFA Champions League and their goal(s);

Samuel Chukwueze will now be looking forward to getting back to Villarreal football club’s starting eleven when they play their next game in the Spanish Laliga this weekend.

The victory over Young Boys football club has also taken Villarreal football club to the 3rd spot in the UEFA Champions League table with 4 points from 3 matches played.
