Union Bank donates items to Imo government towards Covid-19 prevention

Union Bank Nigeria Plc has donated some materials to the Government of Imo State that will help in ameliorating the effects of the Corona virus pandemic in the state.

The items include 300 Customized washing hand buckets, 175 Hand Sanitizers, 275 liquid soaps and 15,000 Exercise Books.

The bank said the exercise books will assist the state in what she is currently doing in the education sector.

Receiving the donations at Government House Owerri, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie, appreciated Union Bank for the gesture and expressed happiness over the relationship that exists between the Bank and the State Government.

Anyaehie who represented Governor Hope Uzodimma stressed that the items will go a long way in alleviating the problems and difficulties associated with Corona Virus pandemic as well as improve education sector in Imo State.

He promised on behalf of the Governor and the people of Imo State that the palliatives will definitely get to those they are meant for and solicited the bank’s continued assistance to the State Government in the spirit of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

He said the bank is at liberty to assist the State Government in her on-going legacy projects because “Government does not have all the resources to do it alone.”

Earlier while making the presentation, the Divisional Executive South of Union Bank, Mrs. Rosemary David Etimwho said she was representingthe Managing Director/CEO, noted that they came to thank Governor Uzodimma and the State Government for being accommodative and for providing a conducive environment  for them to do business in the State.

She informed that Union Bank is desirous at all times to support the Government and people of the Imo State on hygiene and cleanliness, especially with the coming of Corona Virus pandemic.

She said the virus has made some school children vulnerable, and emphasized that the donation is in consideration of the need to complement the efforts of government towards promoting education development and fight against post covid-19 effects.
