Ex-international Chikelue Iloenyosi has declared that Nigeria has the team that can send S/Africa’s Bafana Bafana packing from the ongoing CAF Afcon in Egypt but regrets that the team has no quality.

He maintained that the Super Eagles as a team can stop any opponents and added that team work is more important than individual quality adding that it would be the secret the Nigerian team would climb on to the top.

Iloenyosi, who is the Special Assistant to the NFF President Amaju Pinnick on Security said there are no minors in African football pointing at the results of the matches involving Benin Republic and Morocco, South Africa and Egypt, debutants Madagascar and Congo DR, etc which pundits had predicted otherwise.

He cautioned the Super Eagles against underrating the Bafana Bafana noting that the team from Mandela’s country are young, energetic and business like as such any dull moment from the Super Eagles would produce sad result.

“I have been talking with the players. I told them that I will come to Egypt to cheer them up in the final. They know what to do and I have the confidence that they will not disappoint us. ”

He insists that the choice of who to play or not is the prerogative of the Coach, Gernot Rohr but maintains regardless of his line up if the players maintain team spirit and allow team work to prevail over selfishness, the Super Eagles will emerge victorious over Bafana Bafana.

He however called on the coach to ensure his choice players are selected without sentiment even as he called on the players to maintain dedication and commitment and approach the game as if it is the Cup final adding that football loving Nigerians are behind them.

The ex-international argued that the South African team has not had upper hand in any encounter with the Nigeria team except the first qualifier game for this competition which they ran away with two nil victory in Uyo but maintained that they were to be paid back in their own coins if not for the Super Eagles two goals disallowed by the referee that ended the game in stalemate .
