National Youth Games: Swimmers performance excite newly elected Aquatic Federation president

The newly elected President of the Nigeria Acquatic Federation, Chief Chinonye Dafe-Aliyu has expressed delight with the standard of swimming displayed by the young swimmers at the ongoing National Youth Games in Ilorin.

She described the performances of the various states as very commendable stressing that it was clear Nigeria could become a force in world swimming in future.

“I am very happy and satisfied with the swimming standard displayed by these young swimmers. I am really so encouraged with what I saw here and I am now very confident that if we continue to harness them from the young age the Nation will be a force to recon with in swimming in the future,”

The newly elected aquatic Federation President assured athletes of a better environment as the Federation during her tenure will explore avenues to put Nigeria on the international swimming map.

“The reason they elected us into the board is to make impact, and that we have promised to do. And we also would do everything within our power to put Nigeria o  the International swimming map,” she stated.

The National Youth Games is the first official assignment carried out by the board since their inauguration in Abuja recently
